Covering: Out for a Walk/Loose Leash Walking
- 25 US dollars$25
- White Haven Vet, 88 PA-940, White Haven, PA 18661
All Ages, Abilities & Breeds *Not appropriate for aggressive dogs* Goal: The dog and handler work as a team to keep the leash loose as they walk forward, turn right, turn left and do an about turn with at least one stop in between, and one stop at the end. Exercise: The Evaluator may use a pre-planned course or may simply call out instructions (e.g. "turn left"). Requirements for CGC Title Testing (if you decide to test): The handler may talk to the dog throughout the walk to offer encouragement and praise. The dog's position should leave no doubt that the dog is attentive to the handler and is responding to the handler's movements and changes of direction. The dog does not need to be perfectly aligned with the handler or sit at the stops. The dog does not need to be staring at the handler the whole time. The dog should not be straining at the leash so that the leash is pulled tight. An occasional tight leash may be permitted. If the dog will not walk along with the handler because of excessive sniffing of the floor or ground, the team will not pass.
If Client fails to give at least 24 hours cancellation notice, or is not present at time of scheduled appointment, session fees are still due.
