About the Instructor, Lindsay Tucker

After earning her B.S. in Psychology from Penn State, Lindsay began her animal training career as an Animal Care and Training Intern for the U.S. Navy Marine Mammal Program in San Diego, CA.  While working for the Navy, she gained valuable, hands-on experience with Bottlenose Dolphins and California Sea Lions.  Lindsay then carried her marine mammal training knowledge to Train Rite, Inc., a non-profit service dog organization in Carlsbad, CA.  As a certified assistance dog trainer, she had the opportunity to train a variety of dogs while helping disabled individuals regain their independence.

Lindsay also holds a Dog Obedience Trainer/Instructor diploma from nationally accredited Penn Foster Career School and is a member of the Association of Pet Dog Trainers (APDT) and the Animal Behavior Society (ABS).  She stays up to date on the most modern training techniques through attendance at training seminars, and by reading up-to-date dog training literature.  Her passion lies in helping pet owners communicate successfully with their dogs through using the most modern, gentle and effective dog training techniques.  Lindsay wants to show you how to build a better relationship with your dog through positive training!

Company History

Courteous Canines, Inc., owned by Lindsay Tucker, began in 2006 in Hazleton, PA.  Lindsay recognized a need for change in the dog training practices of Hazleton.  She discovered that there were no private training options for pet owners within a 30 minute driving time, and although there are other dog training facilities in Hazleton, Courteous Canines prides itself with using the most modern, gentle and effective dog training techniques.
